On the 8th of August which was the first day of the boot camp we have been in our school since around 1:00 pm waiting for the bus to come and pick us. The bus arrived a bit late, and after our invitation letter was checked by the volunteers that came with the bus to confirm our identity before we are allow in into the bus. They conveyed us to the venue at Alumni Association at University of Ibadan, it was fun as we got to network with other student in the bus and at the venue. After we are all tested for COVID-19 test and we all came out negative, after then the registration, and we are all given the STEM Belle Kit, then we went in to play different educative STEM games, Also we were given different STEM group (HARD-HAT AND ENGINE), And our chaperon Miss Taiwo, then we went into our room for refreshment and prepared for the dinner.
The opening dinner was anchored by Mrs. Temilade and it was so interesting as we got to know what the boot camp is all about, the purpose of our coming, our expectation and how to network with other students aside from our school members, also we were taught different claps, and above all we had a very delicious dinner (white rice, plantain, sauce and chicken). As we were eating our program director Miss Doreen Anene came up to tell us how STEM Belle was founded, the mission and vision of the STEM Belle. We all enjoyed our meal. We went back to our room to relax and prepare for the next day activities for the boot camp. Our expectation was actually met, the sessions were great, the facilitators did really good more than our expectations.
